Pune: Leopard Caught From Warje, To Be Sent To Rajiv Gandhi Park
Warje, 20th March 2023: The Forest Department has succeeded in capturing the leopard that had entered Ahire Gaon in the Warje Malwadi area, which is a part of Bhar Vasti in the city, after about two hours of effort. The leopard will now be taken to Rajiv Gandhi Zoological Park.
On Monday morning, it was noticed that a leopard had entered a new construction building in the Ahire village of Warje Malwadi, adjacent to the NDA premises. Some witnesses saw him enter a shed.
The matter soon spread everywhere. A massive crowd gathered to see the leopard. From the shed, the leopard entered a garden. After that, it hid under a machine for a long time. It then went to a warehouse near the machine. After receiving the information about the leopard, the rescue team of the forest department and Warje Malwadi Police arrived at the spot around eight am. They put a big net near the door of the godown to catch the leopard. But the leopard escaped from there.
It was then seen in a tree on the side of a building. Then the forest department team knocked it unconscious at half past nine.
A large crowd had gathered here to see the leopard making it difficult for the team to carry out the rescue operation. The leopard did not attack anyone, and the rescue operation was a success.
