Pune: Local Citizens And NCP Workers Protest Over Lack Of Drinking Water Supply In Upper Indiranagar
Pune 5th Sept 2023: The citizens and members of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) from Shelke Vasti area of Upper Indiranagar on Tuesday organised Handa-Morcha to the water distribution department’s office in Swargate area over lack of drinking water supply for the last few days. The citizens, frustrated with continuous problems, raised slogans against the Pune Municipal Corporation for failing to provide basic facilities to the citizens.
The officials of the Municipal Corporation had to close the office fearing anger of the protestors as hundreds of them walked towards the water distribution department’s office in Swargate area. The local police were also called to intervene and handle the situation. However, after a tense situation outside the water distribution department’s office, the police officials managed to convince the protestors and the PMC officials and the citizens decided to end their protest after the Pune Municipal Corporation officials assured them in writing to solve the problem on priority.
