Lonavala Glass Skywalk Tender Draft Finalised

Pune, 20th August 2026: The proposed 125-metre-long Glass Skywalk at Tiger Point and Lion Point in Kurvande, Lonavala, has received a major administrative push, with the draft tender for the project finalised and the Request for Proposal (RFP) expected to be issued soon.

The project, proposed to be developed under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, is expected to become a major tourist attraction in Lonavala.

The decision was taken at a tender scrutiny committee meeting held at the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) headquarters in Akurdi on Thursday. PMRDA metropolitan commissioner Dr Abhijit Chaudhary, Pune district collector Jitendra Dudi and additional metropolitan commissioner K Manjulakshmi attended the meeting.

The committee held detailed discussions on the PPP tender draft and directed officials to submit it for further processing and expedite the approval process. The project has already received the required technical approval and rate analysis has also been completed. Officials said the tendering process is expected to begin in the coming days after the final technical approval.

The project, being undertaken under the ‘Development of Pilgrimage and Tourist Destination Areas in Pune District’ scheme, will include a 125-metre glass bridge with a 23-metre cantilever section.

The project will also feature an attractive entrance, viewing gallery, large restaurant, modern parking facilities, a dedicated power substation, well-equipped toilets and extensive landscaping and beautification of the surrounding area.
