Pune : Lonavala Records 280.5 mm Rainfall In Last 24 Hours

Pune 20th July 2023: As the ghat sections of the Pune district continue to report heavy downpour, several areas recorded a record break rainfall in the last 24 hours. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) officials, 280.5 mm rainfall has been reported in the last 24 hours in Lonavala while 143 mm rainfall has been reported at Lavasa.

Mulshi has recorded 82 mm rainfall while 67 mm rainfall was recorded in Junnar. The Indian Meteorological Department has issued orange alert for Pune district till July 22. The district administration has ordered the keep schools in difficult areas of the district closed for July 20 and 21.

The heavy downpour has also resulted in the increase of water level at the Lonavala Dam as around 3.90 TMC water has been added to the dam in the last 24 hours and it has been filled upto 70.44% of its capacity.
