Pune: M.A. Rangoonwala College Creates History with India’s Largest Magnification Masterclass for Dental Students
Camp, 18th October 2025: In a landmark event for dental education in India, M.A. Rangoonwala College of Dental Sciences & Research Centre, Pune, organized “Beyond Vision” — the nation’s first and largest Magnification Masterclass for undergraduate dental students. The event, themed “200 Smiles … One Vision”, was held to mark World Endodontic Day, in association with the Indian Endodontic Society (IES).
Organized by the Department of Conservative Dentistry and Endodontics, the event saw 200 undergraduate dental students receive hands-on training under magnification, taking their first step into the world of precision-based dentistry. The workshop was conceptualized and led by Dr. Vivek Hegde, Professor and Head of the Department, whose vision and commitment have made magnification training accessible to young clinicians across India.
“Magnification is the future of dentistry, and it should be incorporated right from the undergraduate level so that students can adapt early to precision-based clinical practice,” said Dr. Hegde. “The use of magnification not only enhances the quality of work but also improves posture, visibility, and long-term professional efficiency.”
The session included live demonstrations, individual training with dental loupes, and a comprehensive lecture on the evolution and impact of magnification in modern dentistry. The loupes were provided by Admetec – Haitech Medical Solutions Pvt. Ltd., globally known for their advanced optical systems and continued support for innovation in dental ergonomics.
Abeda Inamdar, Vice President of M.C.E. Society, conveyed her appreciation and warm wishes for the event’s success. “Such initiatives reflect our institution’s unwavering commitment to excellence and innovation in dental education,” she said.
Dr. Parvez Inamdar also extended his congratulations to the organizing team, praising the initiative’s vision and scale. “Introducing magnification at the undergraduate level keeps our institution aligned with global standards in dental practice,” he remarked.
Principal Dr. Ramandeep Dugal commended the department for pioneering such a transformative program. “Experiential learning through hands-on magnification training at an early stage helps shape competent, confident, and ergonomically aware dental professionals,” she said.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks and a celebration of what was truly a historic milestone for the college. The sight of “200 happy smiles” reflected the joy and gratitude of the students, who described the session as a life-changing introduction to precision and clinical excellence.
As “Beyond Vision” came to a close, one message echoed across the campus —“Because when training begins early, excellence becomes habit.”
