Pune: MADC Should Immediately Acquire Land For Purandar Airport: Dy CM Fadnavis

Mumbai, 24th November 2022: Airports should be developed jointly through Maharashtra Airport Development Authority (MADC) and Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), stated Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
“MADC should immediately acquire land for Purandar Airport.” Fadnavis also instructed to start a night landing facility at Amravati Belora Airport immediately.
Fadnavis was speaking in a meeting held today (November 24) at Sahyadri guest house with officials of MADC, Industries, and Urban Development Departments regarding the functioning of various airports in the state.
Fadnavis informed that regarding the Purandar Airport, the approved land in the taluka should be identified and acquired immediately. With the inclusion of Shirdi airport as a major airport, the central government will grant funds for its development. He also said that this airport should be expanded by spending Rs 350 crore and passenger facilities should be created immediately.
Additional Chief Secretary of Water Resources Department and Managing Director of Airport Authority Deepak Kapoor, Principal Secretary of Industries Department Harshdeep Kamble, Principal Secretary of General Administration Department Seema Vyas, Director General of Infrastructure Warroom Radheshyam Mopalwar, Joint Secretary of Urban Development Department Pratibha Bhadane were present on this occasion.
