Pune: Maharashtra Govt Approves PMRDA’s Rs 2419 Crore Budget For Various Development Works

Pune, 31st March 2022: The meeting of the Pune Metropolitan Regional Development Authority (PMRDA) was held yesterday through video conferencing under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray. The state government approved the PMRDA budget of Rs 2,419 crore.

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and Urban Development Minister Eknath Shinde also participated in the meeting through video conferencing.

A green signal was also given for erecting a well planned integrated township with the agreement of the Mumbai Metropolitan region and Karlsruhe City Council of Germany and the International Urban and Regional Cooperation (IURC), which is working under the aegis of the European League. This proposed city will include integrated industrial, residential and commercial facilities. For this, foreign investment will be made in large quantities and technological exchange will provide more employment opportunities.

The PMRDA has included the initial balance, construction permission to TOD, TDR and other facilities for the year 2023-24 and Rs 1,859 crore will be raised in the form of leasing out the land, land premium, stamp duty, amount of interest through financial institutions or loans, security etc. In this way, Rs 3,193 crores are included in the budget. The budget of a total of Rs 2,419 crore has been tabled.

Hefty provisions had been made by the authority in the budget for housing projects, Ring Roads, various schemes of town planning and other new schemes.

Approval was also given for signing the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the international finance company named International Finance Corporation (IFC) which is a member of the World Bank Group. After this non-binding agreement, IFC institution will provide counseling services, a study of infrastructural facilities, a project capacity development program and project wise financial assistance to PMRDA.
