Pune: Maharashtra HSC Results Declared: Girls Outshine Boys Again, Konkan Tops Among Divisions

Pune, 5th May 2025: The Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) has announced the results for the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) Class 12 examinations conducted across its nine divisional boards — Pune, Nagpur, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Mumbai, Kolhapur, Amravati, Nashik, Latur, and Konkan. For yet another year, girls have outperformed boys, and the Konkan division recorded the highest pass percentage.

MSBSHSE Chairman Sharad Gosavi informed that this year’s overall pass percentage stands at 91.88%, slightly lower than last year’s by 1.49%. Konkan division led with a remarkable 96.74%, while Latur recorded the lowest at 89.46%, according to.

A total of 14,27,085 regular students had registered for the HSC exam across streams such as Science, Arts, Commerce, Vocational, and ITI. Of these, 14,17,969 students appeared, and 13,02,873 passed.

Among private candidates, 36,133 students registered, with 35,697 appearing and 29,892 passing — yielding a pass percentage of 83.73%.

The pass rate among repeaters was significantly lower. Out of 42,024 repeater candidates who appeared, only 15,823 passed — a pass rate of 37.65%.

Students with disabilities fared well in this examination. Of 7,258 specially-abled students who appeared, 6,705 passed, achieving an impressive 92.38% pass rate. These students were also provided with compensatory marks as per prevailing regulations.

Girls outperformed boys with a pass percentage of 94.58% compared to 89.51% for boys — a margin of 5.07 percentage points.

In subject-wise performance, 37 subjects out of 154 achieved a perfect 100% result.

Among streams, the Science stream recorded the highest pass rate at 97.35%, followed by Commerce at 92.68%, Vocational courses at 83.26%, ITI at 82.03%, and Arts at 80.52%.
