Pune: Major Traffic Diversions on Katraj-Kondhwa Road from June 19 for Flyover Work; Check Alternate Routes
Katraj, 18th June 2026: To facilitate the ongoing segmental launching work of the six-lane flyover between Katraj Chowk and Rajas Society, the Pune City Police Traffic Branch has announced significant traffic diversions. These temporary changes fall under the jurisdiction of the Bharati Vidyapeeth Traffic Division and will come into effect on June 19, 2026, remaining in place until further orders.
The official notification was issued by Dr. Sandeep Bhajibhakare, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Traffic Branch, Pune City.
To ensure the safety and smooth flow of traffic, specific diversions have been implemented for commuters, and one stretch has been converted into a one-way zone. “Emergency and essential service vehicles—including fire brigade tenders, police vehicles, ambulances, and vehicles related to exams or competitions—are strictly exempted from these restrictions”, informed DCP Bhajibhakare.
Key Traffic Diversions & Alternate Routes
1. Kondhwa to Katraj Route:
Vehicles traveling from Kondhwa towards Katraj are advised not to use the Rajas Flyover at Rajas Society Chowk. Instead, they must proceed straight to their destination using the adjacent service road.
2. Rajas Flyover Restrictions (One-Way Traffic):
Traffic on the Rajas Flyover has been converted into one-way traffic until further orders. It is strictly reserved only for vehicles traveling from Katraj towards Kondhwa Road.
3. From Katraj Lake (Katraj Talao) to Rajas Society Chowk / Kondhwa:
Vehicles coming from the Katraj Lake side and heading towards Rajas Society Chowk or Kondhwa must turn left, use the service road, and then go over the Rajas Flyover to proceed toward Kondhwa.
4. From Rajas Society to Katraj:
Vehicles traveling from Rajas Society towards Katraj are restricted from taking direct routes and must take a U-turn at Kapila Dairy to reach their desired destination.
The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has been instructed to install clear informational signboards along the affected routes within 7 days to guide commuters.
