Pune: Make Ambil Odha Encroachment-Free: Local Corporators’ Demand To Municipal Commissioner
Pune, September 14, 2020: Local corporators, on Sunday, brought various issues caused by the flooding of Ambil Odha every year to the notice of the Pune Municipal commissioner Vikram Kumar, who visited the area near Ambil Odha. The corporators also made several demands to address the issue of encroachment in the area to the Commissioner.
Local Corporator Ashwini Kadam also mentioned that Ambil Odha has shallowed over the years due to the silt and mud carried by the water. As the water now enters the homes of those living adjacent to the Odha, they now fear every time it rains heavily in the area, she added.
In order to prevent this, it has been demanded that the water from Katraj Lake must also be released, like dam water is released, in order to prevent its flooding. Similarly, as per a survey by PriMove, all encroachment from Ambil Odha must be removed, and it should be widened upto 22 metres.
