Pune: Malls, Restaurants, Hotels To Remain Closed On Weekends – PMC

Pune, 12th June 2021: Although the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has relaxed the lockdown restrictions, it was not clear whether hotels, restaurants, bars and malls will be closed during the weekend lockdown on Saturday and Sunday. This has created confusion. Finally, the municipal administration has clarified that hotels and malls will remain closed.

 

On Friday, PMC issued a revised order which will come into effect from Monday (June 14). The shops have been allowed to open till 7 pm. However, non-essential shops will open from Monday to Friday. The order did not specify days for malls, restaurants, hotels.

 

According to the revised order, hotels and restaurants have been allowed to open till 10 pm with 50% seating capacity. They can provide home delivery/parcel till 11 pm. Also, malls will be started with 50% capacity.

 

PMC officials said that there will be chances of more crowding on Saturday and Sunday if malls and restaurants are open.

Mayor Muralidhar Mohol and PMC Additional Commissioner Rubal Agarwal have clarified that malls and restaurants, hotels will remain closed on Saturday and Sunday in the coming week.
