Pimpri, 12th June 2021: People’s representatives correspond with the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) for various works. However, those letters are not being taken into account, the work is not being done and the letters are not being answered. When such complaints started coming from the people’s representatives, Commissioner Rajesh Patil ordered the officials to give priority to the works and has warned of action if their letters are not heeded.

People’s representatives correspond with the civic body regarding developmental work, public work and any complaint in the city. Officials are expected to act on those letters promptly. However, the people’s representatives are constantly experiencing that the civic authorities are not responding to them.

Earlier, Commissioner Shravan Hardikar had issued circulars on the same issue thrice but to no avail. He had warned that immediate action should be taken on the letters sent by the people’s representatives, otherwise action would be taken against the department head and branch head. However, the warning given by Hardikar was not taken seriously by the civic authorities. The same situation has come to the notice of the present commissioner.

Therefore, a circular in this regard has been issued by Commissioner Patil and the officers have been warned to take action on the letters quickly. Priority should be given to the work mentioned in letters from municipal corporators, office bearers, MLAs and MPs. If these letters are not responded to immediately and action is not taken on the issues mentioned in them, the guilty officers will face action, the commissioner has warned.
