Pune: Man Arrested For Assaulting Neighbour Who Hit His Dog

Baner, 4th December 2022: Pune city police have arrested a dog owner for assaulting his neighbour with an axe who had hit his dog with a stone.

The incident took place around 8.30 pm near Kapil Malhar society in the Shindemala area of Baner, Pune.

Based on a complaint from Ravi Ghorpade, Chatushrungi police station has registered a case of attempt to murder against Ayub Basha Shaikh (36), a resident of Baner.

According to police, Shaikh’s pet dog barked at Ghorpade following which he hit the dog with a stone. This led to an argument between them and Shaikh attacked Ghorpade with an axe. Ghorpade has sustained serious injuries.

Following this, police arrested Shaikh. A judicial magistrate court has remanded him to police custody.
