Pune : Man Arrested For Stealing Gold And Cash To Play ‘Online Teen Patti’ Game

Pune 21st August 2023: The Pune City Police have arrested a man for allegedly stealing cash and gold worth Rs 38.50 lakh from a house to play ‘Online Teen Patti’ game. The accused identified as Manish Jeevanlal Rai (29), a resident of Madhya Pradesh who was residing in Sangvi area of the city was nabbed after his involvement was in an offence of house-break registered at Chatushringi Police Station.

According to the police, a case regarding house-break in the Aundh area was lodged with police on August 18. The accused allegedly stole cash worth Rs 11 lakh and 55 Tolas of gold from a house of a businessman. During the investigation, the police team through technical analysis reached out to Manish and he was taken into custody.

The investigation revealed that Manish was addicted to playing ‘Online Teen Patti’ game and had lost Rs 11 lakh in the game. The police have seized 55 tolas of gold worth Rs 27,50,000 from his possession. Further investigation in the matter is underway. The accused has been booked under sections 454, 457 and 380 of the Indian Penal Code(IPC).
