Pune: Man Booked For Sexually Assaulting Calf, Alert Citizens Caught Him
Pune, 29th October 2022: A 35-year-old man has been booked by Pune city police for allegedly having unnatural sex with a calf in the Deccan Gymkhana area on Friday.
Some alert citizens chased and caught him. They thrashed him before handing him over to the police. He is undergoing treatment at the Sassoon General Hospital.
Based on a complaint from a 28-year-old man, Deccan Gymkhana police station has registered an FIR against the accused. The complainant was eating snacks at a stall one the riverside road when when a youth alerted him that a man was having unnatural sex with a calf. The spot under the bridge where the incident took place is dark and there are no functional street lights. The accused was caught behind the Sambhaji Udayan as he tried to escape.
The police rushed to the spot after getting information from the control room.
Senior police inspector Muralidhar Karpe, in-charge of Deccan Gymkhana police station, said, “The accused, who hails from Nepal, has been booked for offences under section 377 (unnatural sex) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Prevention of Cruel ty to Animals Act. He is injured after being thrashed by the people. He is admitted in hospital.”
