Pune: Man Brutally Attacks Daughter with Axe in Wagholi; Police Launch Manhunt
Wagholi, 3rd January 2024: In a shocking incident, Fakira Dupargude, a resident of Wagholi originally from Solapur, has left his 15-year-old daughter in critical condition after assaulting her with an axe.
The horrifying attack took place at their residence around 11:30 am today, leaving the young girl seriously injured on her head, arms, and legs.
The victim has been rushed to Sassoon Hospital for urgent medical treatment. Her current condition is said to be critical.
Senior Police Inspector Vishwajeet Kaingade, in-charge of Lonikand police station, Pune city police, has deployed police teams to locate and apprehend the accused, who is currently on the run. The motive behind the vicious attack remains unclear.
A case is in the process of being registered at Lonikand police station based on the complaint filed by the injured victim’s aunt’s husband. The accused, Dupargude, works as a laborer at construction sites, while his wife is employed as a housemaid.
