Pune: Man Dies After Drowning in Panshet Dam Backwaters; Cause Believed to Be Accidental Slip
Velhe, 4th November 2024: A tragic incident occurred on Saturday, November 2, around 2:30 PM, when a man drowned in the backwaters of Panshet Dam, near the Kadve village.
The deceased has been identified as Uttam Ravji Padwal (38), a resident of Kadve. It is believed that he accidentally slipped and fell into the water, although the exact cause of death is still under investigation.
Upon receiving information about the incident, a rescue team—comprising Tanaji Bhosale, Ganesh Sapkal, Vaibhav Bhosale, Sanjay Chorghe Patil, Sandeep Solaskar, Akash Solaskar, Manoj Shinde, Prateek Mahamuni, Suraj Kawde, and Sagar Bawle—promptly arrived at the scene and recovered the body from the water. The deceased was handed over to the Velhe police and transported to Velhe Rural Hospital for an autopsy.
