Pune: Man Drowns in Pawana River While Swimming in Ravet
Ravet, 2nd May 2025: A 40-year-old man drowned while swimming in the Pawana River near Malekar Ghat in Ravet Gaonthan, Pimpri-Chinchwad on Thursday. The deceased, identified as Vinayak Bhat, was swimming with his brother and cousin when he misjudged the depth of the water and was swept away.
His body was recovered later in the day near Bhondave Lawns in Ravet. Authorities confirmed that the body has been sent to Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital in Sant Tukaram Nagar, Pimpri for a postmortem examination.
Senior Police Inspector Nitin Phatangare of Ravet Police Station stated that a case of accidental death has been registered and further inquiry is underway.
