Kondhwa, 12th November 2024: Cyber criminals defrauded a young man of Rs 26 lakh by promising high returns from stock market investments. The Pune Police have registered a case in connection with the incident. A resident of Bhagyoday Nagar filed a complaint at the Kondhwa Police Station.

The cybercriminals initially contacted the complainant in September, claiming that stock market investments would yield significant returns. At first, the complainant received returns, which led him to trust the fraudsters. Encouraged by their persistence, he invested a total of Rs 25.99 lakh.

However, after making the payment, the fraudsters blocked his mobile number. Realising he had been duped, the complainant approached the police. Crime Police Inspector Suraj Bendre is leading the investigation. The surge in stock market-related scams has defrauded many individuals out of crores of rupees.
