Pune: Man Murdered in Retaliation for Teasing Sister; Three Arrested by Lashkar Police

Camp, 14th January 2024: An incident unfolded in the Camp area as a man was killed in an inn, allegedly in retaliation for teasing the sister of one of the perpetrators. The Lashkar Police swiftly took action, arresting three individuals involved in the crime. The victim is identified as Arbaaz alias Baban Iqbal Sheikh, a 35-year-old resident of Bhawani Peth.

 

Vijay Namdev Dengle, a 50-year-old resident of Wakad, filed a complaint regarding the incident. The arrested suspects have been identified as Faizan Rafiq Shaikh (26), Gufran Muzaffar Momin (21), and Jagdish Shankar Dodamani (22) all residents of Bhawani Peth

 

Arbaaz had a criminal history, with serious charges including attempted murder, forced theft, assault, and molestation registered against him in Samarth and Khadak Police Stations. The Commissioner of Police had previously taken action against him under the Maharashtra Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Slumlords, Bootleggers, Drug Offenders and Dangerous Persons Act (MPDA), resulting in a year-long imprisonment. Arbaaz had recently been released from prison after completing his sentence for molesting a young woman.

 

Fueled by a desire for retribution, the accused devised a plan to murder Arbaaz. They lured him to Tabut Street in the Camp area during the early hours of Saturday morning. An altercation ensued, leading to the accused stabbing Arbaaz with a weapon. The severity of the injuries proved fatal, resulting in Arbaaz’s demise.

 

The Police, acting on the directives of Senior Police Inspector Dashrath Patil and Police Inspector (Crime) Priyanka Shelke, promptly arrested the accused. The investigation into the murder case is underway, with the arrested individuals likely to face charges related to the conspiracy and execution of the crime.
