Pune: Man Searching For Wife Mistaken As Thief, Brutally Assaulted

Kothrud, 27th October 2021: Sachin Navangare (27) of Pashan who was mistaken as a thief was beaten up by three persons at Chandani Chowk.

Sachin’s wife had left the house after both of them had a fight and he had gone searching for her on the intervening night of Tuesday and Wednesday.

When Sachin was searching for his wife at Sobha Nesara society, at around 2 am, Vaibhav Vishnu Hargude, Vilas Kumar Mishra and Shravankuman Naresh Bhumia mistaken him as a thief and beat him up with iron rods.

According to the police, Sachin lives near the Kubera Bahara Society in the Pashan area. He and his wife fought on Monday night. In a fit of anger, the wife left the house. While searching for her, he reached near Ved Bhavan when people there mistaken him as a thief and started beating him.

Despite his pleas, no one paid any heed to him. Sachin was badly injured in the incident. He later called up police who reached the spot and freed him. Warje police station officials are investigating the case.
