Pune: Prize Distribution Of State Level Medicinal Plant Competition

Pune, 27th October 2021: Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) in association with Ayush ministry Western Region National Medicinal plants had organised various State level competitions under ‘Amruta For Life’. The prize distribution for it was held on Tuesday at the university. 

Over 428 students participated in the competition from Maharashtra and Goa region. Dr DG Naik, Dr Mandar Akkalkotkar and Rajshree Shinde were the judges for the competition. The winning students were felicitated by giving them a memento, Gulvel sapling, certificate and a cheque. 

An exhibition held of the drawings, essays done by the students. Management member Rajesh Pande said, “medicinal plants are the national treasure, and they must be preserved”. He was the chief guest for the function.

While prof. Avinash Ade in his presidential address gave information about various medicinal plants and how it can be used for treating human beings. Akshay Bankar and Rajshree Shinde were the host for the program. 

Winners  

Essay competition

Chaitrali Joshi, Baramati—winner while Snehal Kumbhar, Pune and Anuja Mandve, Amravati were first and second runner-up.

Elocution Competition

Ananya Chaturvedi, Baramati and Soumaya Deshpande, Pune were the winners and Kajal Dhage, Ahmednagar, Krishnamurthi Shival, Akola were first runner ups and Swara Bhosale and Advika Choudhary, Baramati were second runner ups.

Drawing Competition

Samiksha Kate, Baramati-winner, Prem Patil, Pune first runner up and Kalyani Panchgane, Baramati were second runner up.
