Pune, 4th April 2025: Manish Hemant Khadilkar from Pune, Maharashtra, has been officially recognized by the OMG Book of Records for maintaining the Longest International Pen Friendship.

Since March 1988, Khadilkar has been in continuous written communication with his German pen friend, Sylvia Meyer (Weigand). Remarkably, for 37 years, they have exchanged handwritten letters without ever meeting, speaking, or seeing each other. Their unwavering dedication to traditional letter-writing stands as a testament to the power of friendship and meaningful communication.

The OMG Book of Records has acknowledged this extraordinary achievement in its 2025-26 edition. Prof. Dr. Dinesh K. Gupta, Chief Editor and CEO of OMG Book of Records, congratulated Khadilkar, stating that his dedication serves as an inspiration to many.

This record highlights the timeless charm of handwritten letters in an era dominated by digital communication.
