Pune: Man Uses Donkeys to Tow His Mahindra Thar to Showroom in Wakad After Repeated Vehicle Issues
Wakad, 13th November 2025: In an unusual protest that caught everyone’s attention, a Junnar resident, Ganesh Sangade, used a pair of donkeys to tow his Mahindra Thar to a dealership in Wakad after allegedly facing months of unresolved mechanical problems.
Sangade had purchased the Thar only a few months ago but claims the SUV started developing issues soon after delivery. Despite several visits to Mahindra Sahyadri Motors, located near the Hinjawadi Flyover, his complaints reportedly went unaddressed. Frustrated, he decided to make a public statement — literally dragging the SUV to the showroom in a symbolic act of protest.
To amplify his message, Sangade arranged a brief procession featuring dhol-tasha drummers, turning the protest into a spectacle that drew a large crowd and quickly went viral on social media.
Explaining his decision, Sangade said, “I bought the Thar because it’s known as a rugged and reliable vehicle, but it has only caused me problems. Despite servicing it multiple times as per company recommendations, none of the issues have been fixed.”
According to him, the vehicle has been plagued by water leakage, poor mileage requiring daily refueling, rust patches on the body paint, and loud engine noise that makes it uncomfortable to drive.
The dramatic protest has since sparked widespread debate online about customer service standards in the automobile industry. While some netizens found humor in Sangade’s unique demonstration, many expressed sympathy, noting that such actions reflect growing consumer frustration over poor after-sales service.
