Pune: Man Vandalizes Cars Following Wife’s Divorce Petition, Wakad Police Register FIR
Wakad, 27th December 2023: A resident of Kalewadi, identified as Sadashiv Tukaram Dighe (50), unleashed havoc in a society parking lot, vandalizing cars and assaulting residents after learning about his wife filing for divorce. The incident prompted a complaint from Ashish Balaji Panchal (22) at the Wakad police station, Pimpri Chinchwad police.
According to the account provided in the complainant, the accused, Dighe, came to Mangaldeep Apartment in Panchnath Colony, Kalewadi, where he has relatives. Panchal also resides in the same apartment complex. The incident took place on Sunday (24th December) night as Panchal, accompanied by his parents and friends, was strolling in the parking lot.
Dighe, driven by anger over his wife’s divorce case, reportedly arrived at the spot and began vandalizing cars parked in the society. The situation escalated when Panchal and others attempted to intervene. Dighe not only verbally abused them but also resorted to physical violence, assaulting Panchal and biting his hand. The accused’s aggression extended to threats of harm, creating a tense and fearful atmosphere.
Wakad Police are investigating the matter further.
