Pune: Maoists Targeting Colleges and Universities, Warns Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Fadnavis

Pune, 26th May 2023: Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis highlighted the concerning trend of Maoists attempting to infiltrate colleges and universities, urging authorities to take decisive action during a press interaction on Friday.

Fadnavis addressed reporters during the concluding program of the national executive meeting of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), where he expressed his views on the matter.

Fadnavis emphasized the need to prevent Maoists from spreading their divisive ideology and disrupting the education system. Referring to the eradication of urban Naxalism and Maoists in the past, he stated that these groups pose a threat to the culture and constitution of India. By instilling anti-establishment sentiments in the minds of youth, they seek to sow seeds of division within society.

Fadnavis expressed his delight at attending the National Executive meeting of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad, an organization where he had previously been an active member. He acknowledged the instrumental role played by ABVP in nurturing his leadership qualities.
