Pune: Market Yard and sub yards will be closed from July 13 onwards

Pune, July 10, 2020: As Pune city and Pimpri Chinchwad will be going under lockdown from July 13 midnight, the vegetable and grocery market at Market Yard will also shut down post-midnight of July 13, and will remain closed until the end of this lockdown period. This information was given by BJ Deshmukh, Administrator of Agricultural Produce Market Committee (APMC), Pune.

He has mentioned that both the main vegetable and fruit market of Market Yard, as well as the sub yards, will be closed. Deshmukh further mentioned that this decision has been taken on the backdrop of the lockdown announced by the District administration. He has also asked the farmers and traders to cooperate with the administration.

The Pune District administration has announced a strict lockdown for 10 days starting from July 13 midnight to July 23. This decision was taken due to the increased number of cases of COVID-19 patients in Pune as well as Pimpri Chinchwad area.
