Camp, 7th September 2025: The city of Pune witnessed a historic celebration on Sunday as the 1500th Jashn-e-Eid Milad-un-Nabi was observed at Eidgah Maidan, opposite Golibar Maidan in Camp. Organized by the Seerat Committee, Pune, the event was marked by spirituality, devotion, and community harmony.

Eid Milad-un-Nabi commemorates the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad, regarded as the final messenger of Islam. Muslims believe that Allah sent many prophets — including Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, and Jesus (peace be upon them all) — to guide humanity towards the worship of one God. Prophet Muhammad is considered the last and most significant prophet, through whom the Holy Quran was revealed.

A Spiritual Celebration

The program highlighted the devotional essence of the occasion with:

  • Tilawat-e-Quran (recitation of the Holy Quran)
  • Hamd and Naat (poetry in praise of Allah and the Prophet)
  • Durood and Salaam (sending blessings upon the Prophet)

The peaceful and spiritual atmosphere reflected the Prophet’s teachings of peace, compassion, and justice.

Community Voices

Sharing the committee’s vision, a member said:

“We were determined to keep this celebration holy and smooth. We avoided DJ music and noisy processions, focusing instead on creating a respectful and spiritual environment for Milad-un-Nabi.”

Program Highlights

The main program began in the afternoon and concluded in the evening with Langar-e-Aam (Community Feast), where both vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals were served to attendees. Special arrangements were made for women, ensuring comfort and inclusivity.

Message of the Milad

The 1500th Jashn-e-Eid Milad-un-Nabi was not only a celebration of the Prophet’s birth but also a reminder of his timeless message — to worship one God, live with compassion, and build a just and peaceful society. By choosing devotion over display, the Pune community set an example of how Milad can be observed in its truest spiritual form.
