Pune: Married Man Thrashed, Robbed By Partner Whom He Met On Gay Chat App

Dhayari, August 30, 2020: Sharing personal information on downloaded apps could prove to be riskier than you thought. A man was recently robbed of Rs 81,000 by someone he met on a gay chat app. A complaint has been registered in this regard at the Sinhagad police station.

As per the information provided by the police, the complainant, 34-year-old, is a married man residing in Dhayari area. He had downloaded a gay chat app a few days ago, and a user named Ravi had sent a chat request to the complainant on the same on August 9. After chatting for some time, they decided to meet to take their rendezvous to the next level. Accordingly, Ravi invited the complainant to a flat in Chavannagar area in the vicinity of Nanded City. When the complainant went there, three persons entered the room, and started beating him up. They threatened him, and snatched his gold-silver lockets from him. At the same time, they made him send them around Rs 81,000 through Google Pay and PayTM.

Assistant Police Inspector Satish Umre has appealed to the public not to share their personal information on mobile apps, and stated that the police are further conducting their investigation.
