Pune: Massive Fire Engulfs Reliance-Owned Mobile Tower and Control Room in Vishrantwadi

Vishrantwadi, 2nd April 2023: A huge fire broke out in a building of Kasturba Co-operative Housing Society, Vijayashanti Heights at around 03.30 pm today. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident.

The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. The fire brigade dispatched fire engines from both Yerwada and Dhanori fire stations upon receiving the information.

After reaching the spot, the firefighters noticed severe flames on the ground floor and the mobile tower on the terrace, along with the control room of the same company on the five-story building. Once they confirmed that all the residents of the building were safe, they took a hose pipe to the roof of the fifth floor and began extinguishing the fire. However, the operation was complicated due to obstructions in the building as the fire broke out on the roof.

The fire was brought under control in about 20 minutes. The exact cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. In the said fire, the cable, mobile tower, and control room have been completely burnt. The tower belongs to Reliance Company.

Dhanori fire station officer Sopan Pawar and drivers Raghunath Bhoir, Shankar Gaikwad, Tandel Bhausaheb Chormale, Ankush Palve, and jawans Rohidas Tingre, Vitthal Adhari, Akash Rathod, Suraj Niwalkar, Amol Randive carried out the operation.
