Pune: Maval Constituency Gears Up for Election Results: Security Measures Tightened in Pimpri Chinchwad

Maval, 28th May 2024: Preparations for the Maval Lok Sabha Constituency vote counting, scheduled for June 4th, are in their final stages, aligning with the rest of the country.

Deepak Singla, the Election Returning Officer of Maval, confirmed that all necessary measures have been implemented following the directives of the Election Commission of India (ECI).

A press conference was convened to provide information about the election vote-counting process in Maval. Present at the conference were Election Returning Officer Deepak Singla, Additional Commissioner of Police Vasant Pardeshi from Pimpri Chinchwad, Election Coordinating Officers Pravin Thackeray and Himmat Kharade, Election Coordinating Officer Abhijit Jagtap, Assistant Returning Officer Sachin Mhaske, along with Manisha Telbhate, Pramod Ombhase, and Raju Thanage.

During the elections held on May 13th in the Maval Lok Sabha constituency, a total voter turnout of 54.87% was recorded. Across the 6 Vidhan Sabha Constituencies under Maval Lok Sabha Constituency, the voter turnout percentages were as follows: Panvel – 50.05%, Karjat – 61.40%, Uran – 67.07%, Maval – 55.42%, Chinchwad – 52.20%, and Pimpri – 50.55%.

On June 4th, the vote counting for the Maval Lok Sabha constituency will take place at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Balewadi. The EVM machines and Postal Ballot box are securely stored in a strong room within the Sports Complex, also known as Balewadi Stadium. Stringent security measures are in place at this venue. The seal of the strong room will be opened on June 4th at 8 AM in the presence of Election Commission of India (ECI) officials responsible for the Maval Lok Sabha constituency, candidates, and their representatives.

To facilitate the vote-counting process, Election Returning Officer Singla has mobilized over 1,500 personnel from various administrations. Additionally, the use of all electronic devices is prohibited within the vicinity of the vote-counting office. The Pimpri Chinchwad Police Commissionerate will ensure proper police arrangements to ensure a smooth process without any chaos. Except for ECI officials, candidates, and authorized individuals, others will not be allowed within 150 meters of the Balewadi stadium. Additional Commissioner of Police Vasant emphasized the importance of maintaining security and taking precautions to execute the model code of conduct seamlessly.
