Pune: MD Doctor Arrested For Installing Spy Cameras In Room Of Lady Doctor

Katraj, 13th July 2021: Pune City Police have arrested a 42-year-old doctor for allegedly installing hidden cameras in the room of a trainee doctor of Bharati Hospital.

 

The arrested accused has been identified as Dr Sujit Abajirao Jagtap. A 31-year-old female doctor had registered an FIR at Bharati Vidyapeeth police station against an unknown person for installing hidden cameras in her bedroom and bathroom at doctors’ quarters.

 

According to the police, the victim is a trainee doctor at Bharati Hospital. She lives with a colleague at the staff quarter. The incident came to light on July 6. As usual, she returned to her room in the evening after work. The bulbs in the bathroom and bedroom were not working. She called an electrician who found wireless spy cameras in the holders. The cameras had memory chips and battery backup.

 

Considering the seriousness of the incident, the police were searching for the accused. While investigating the case, the police had been checking the CCTV footage of the surrounding areas and questioned the staff. Dr Jagtap was captured in one of the footage. He is a lecturer at the Bharti Vidyapeeth Medical College and Hospital. He has own clinic and works as a consultant at various hospitals.

 

He was arrested and produced before a judicial magistrate court which remanded him to two days of police custody.
