Pune: Meeting Of Chandrakant Patil With People’s Representatives To Be Held Soon Regarding Red Zone Near Dehu Road
Pimpri, 25th March 2023: Citizens of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) are experiencing difficulties due to the non-development zone (red zone) of the ammunition factory at Dehu road.
Therefore, Minister Uday Samant assured the Legislative Council on Friday (24th March) that Pune District Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil will soon hold a meeting with local people’s representatives and relevant officials.
In the Legislative Council, Uma Khapare raised the question. Answering it, Minister Samant informed that a meeting will be held with the Cantonment Board officials of the state along with the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister on various issues related to the Defense Department in the state. Also, a meeting with the Union Defense Minister will be followed up on these issues.
Samant said that the Defense Department has declared Protected No-Development Areas (Red Zones) in many places. Therefore, difficulties are observed while implementing the development plan in that area. The citizens of PCMC are experiencing problems due to this red zone of the ammunition factory at Dehu road. Therefore, Chandrakant Patil will soon hold a meeting with the local people’s representatives and relevant officials on this issue as well.
Meanwhile, the Defense Department has declared red zone limits in several places in Pimpri-Chinchwad city. However, the distance of the red zone varies from place to place. Therefore, citizens are facing many difficulties while building or constructing houses. Construction cannot be done as the space is in the red zone. Also, banks do not give loans for construction.
Shiv Sena Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray’s MLA and District Liaison Chief Sachin Ahir had recently demanded in the Legislative Council that a new map of Red Zone should be published in the city for clarity.
