Pune: Mephedrone Worth Rs 13 Lakh Seized, Two Arrested From Chikhali
Pimpri Chinchwad 12th Oct 2023: The Pimpri Chinchwad Police have arrested two persons from Chikhali area of the city for allegedly procuring and selling the mephedrone drugs. A case in this regard has been registered at Chikhali Police Station.
According to police, the officials of the Anti Narcotics Cell had received information about the suspect trying to sell the drugs in the Chikhali area. Accordingly, the police team laid a trap and two accused identified as Ramkumar Jeevan Mishra (42), a resident of Nalasopara in Palghar district and Abdul Musharraf Ali Kalim alias Siddiqui (35), a resident of Kudalwadi, Chikhali were taken into custody. The police have seized 116 grams of mephedrone worth Rs 13,35,590 from their possession. The motorcycles and mobile phones of the accused used in the offence have also been seized.
A case under sections 8(c), 22(c) and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act has been registered at Chikhali Police Station. Further investigation in the matter is underway.
