Pune Metro Introduces Reserved Seats for Women and Senior Citizens from 8 March

Pune, 6th March 2026: Pune Metro will introduce reserved seating for women and senior citizens starting Sunday, 8 March, coinciding with International Women’s Day. The initiative aims to enhance convenience and safety for female passengers and elderly commuters.

Under the new arrangement, each metro train will have 46 seats reserved for women and 8 for senior citizens, spread across all three coaches. The allocation is as follows: the first coach (DMA Car) will have 14 seats for women and 2 for senior citizens; the middle coach (T-Car) will have 18 seats for women and 4 for senior citizens; and the third coach (DMB Car) will have 14 seats for women and 2 for senior citizens.

Pune Metro has displayed detailed seating layouts inside all coaches and at stations, and the information will also be available on the official mobile app. Passengers are advised to follow the signage and respect the reserved seating to ensure a safe and comfortable journey for all.

The metro authorities have requested commuters to cooperate with this initiative and make travel more convenient for women and senior citizens.
