Pune Metro To Be Operational From Kothrud To Garware College In August This Year

Pune, February 2, 2021: Work on the corridors of Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad metro projects is in full swing. The testing process of Metro has started in phases. Accordingly, the Metro on the Vanaj (Kothrud) to Garware College route will be tested in March and will be operational by August, claimed Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president, MLA Chandrakant Patil.

Patil had organized a meeting at the Pune Municipal Corporation to review the development works in the city. The meeting also reviewed the work of metro projects. Mayor Murlidhar Mohol, Deputy Mayor Saraswati Shendge, MLAs Mukta Tilak, Siddharth Shirole, BJP city president Jagdish Mulik, Metro officials were present on the occasion.

Patil said that there is very satisfactory progress about Metro. Citizens of Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad will have the opportunity to travel by Metro in the coming year. Work on metro projects in both cities is underway in phases. With this in view, the Metro will start its service in five phases throughout the year. Metro service between Vanaj to Garware College will start in August, Metro officials said.

Work on the double flyover at Nalstop Chowk on Karve Road is also in full swing. It will be open to traffic by June 2021. With the completion of Metro and flyover work, the problem of traffic congestion in the area will be solved, said Patil.
