Pune: Military Canteen Foreign Liquor Being Smuggled To Gujarat, Local Crime Branch Arrest Accused

Kamshet, February 2, 2021: The officials from the Local Crime Branch (LCB) of Pune rural police have arrested a man for allegedly smuggling foreign liquor meant for the military canteens here to Gujarat. Liquor worth Rs 24,508 has been seized.

The arrested person has been identified as Mayur Ughade, a resident of Loni Kalbhor. On February 1 night, he was carrying a stock of foreign liquor for sale from Pune to Gujarat via luxury travel bus.

Acting on a tip-off, the LCB sleuths intercepted the bus near Kamshet tunnel on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway and seized the liquor. The accused has been handed over to the Kamshet police station for further investigation.
