Pune, 19th March 2023: The work of the metro line between Garware College Station and Ruby Hall Clinic Station has reached its final stage and the works of the line will be completed by the end of March. After that, the passenger service will start on this route after the inspection tour of the Central Committee.

Under this route, the work of Deccan and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Park Station is nearing completion. Deccan, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Park, Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC), Shivajinagar District Court, Regional Transport Office (RTO), Pune Railway Station are the stations between Garware College Station, and Ruby Hall Clinic Station.

After the commencement of passenger services on the route, important places such as FC Road, Jangli Maharaj Road, Balgandharva Rangmandir, PMC, RTO, Wadia College, etc will be connected by Metro. The Deccan and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Park stations have distinctive designs. Both these stations have been designed in the shape of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s turban.

It was a challenging task to design the grand station which is about 140 meters long, 26 meters high, and 28 meters wide. As the structure of the station roof is three-dimensional, each iron pillar and roof sheet has a different length, height, and width. Both these stations are in the river bed and the height of the stations is 60 to 70 feet from the ground.

As these stations will be open for passengers by April, it will be possible to connect places like JM Road, Balgandharva Rangmandir, Modern College, Fergusson College, Deccan Gymkhana, etc.

The work of a pedestrian bridge to reach these stations has started. Both Narayan Peth to Deccan Station and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Park Station to Shaniwar Peth will be connected by a footbridge.
