Pune 14th August 2023: Considering the demand from commuters reagading starting early morning operations of the Pune Metro, the officials have announced to start running trains from 6 am instead of 7 am.  The decision was taken after several commuters of the city demanded the metro officials to extend the operation hours.

This comes after Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar who travelled in the train last week recommended the Metro officials to take steps towards strengthening the service by listening to the commuter’s demand after some of them he interacted with had also raised the demand to start the 6 am train.

It may be noted that many colleges in the city start at 7 am and it becomes difficult for the students to reach their college if they catch the first train. Besides, office-goers, especially those who travel outrise the city had also requested to start the early morning train to ensure they reach Pune Railway Station to catch mail express for their further journey.

Pune Metro has been witnessing a good response of commuters after the launch of extended routes. Currently the Metro service operates between Pimpri Chinchwad to Civil Court Station and Ruby Hall Clinic to Vanaz Metro Station via Civil Court.

The frequency of Pune Metro will be as follows

Vanaz Station to Ruby Hall Clinic route:
6 am to 8 am – Every 15 minutes
8 am to 11 am – Every 10 minutes
11 am to 4 pm – Every 15 minutes
4 PM to 8 PM – Every 10 minutes
8 PM to 10 PM – Every 15 minutes
