Pune : Another Accident On Katraj-Kondhwa Road Claims One Life Today, Two People Killed In Two Days
Pune 14th August 2023: In yet another accident reported on Katraj-Kondhwa road on Monday, a 60-year-old person has lost his life after he was hit by a vehicle. The deceased identified as Vishnu Hanuman Hanamayya Handriki who was walking on the road died on the spot in the accident. The accident was reported between Pisoli and Khadi Machine road, said officials. The driver of the vehicle did not stop and ran away after the accident.
This was the second such accident reported on the Katraj-Kondhwa road in which a pedestrian was killed. On Sunday, a 70-year-old woman was also killed after she was hit by a truck near Maulinagar Chowk. The road is one the busiest bypass routes of the city and majority of heavy vehicles intending to go towards Solapur take this route to connect with Pune-Bengaluru Highway near Narhe.
It may be noted that in a major accident reported here last week, one person had lost his life while seven others were injured after a truck carrying cement pipes hit multiple vehicles including a school bus. The local leaders and politicians have demanded an immediate solution to the problem as the widening of this road has been pending for a long time due to land acquisition and some other issues.
