Pune: Minor Burglar Goes To Meet Girlfriend Caught By Police; Stolen Valuables Worth Rs 15 Lakhs Seized From Him And Others
Pune, 2nd August 2023: A minor boy involved in a burglary case has been detained by the Pune police and 220 grams of gold has been recovered from his possession. The incident involved the minor and an accomplice, who burglarized a house for fun.
In another case, the Bharti Vidyapeeth Police arrested two individuals who robbed a rickshaw passenger at knifepoint.
In total, the police confiscated Rs 15 lakhs 43 thousand related to both crimes. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 2) Smartana Patil, provided details during a press conference today.
DCP Patil added, “The burglary occurred at Nimbalkarwadi Waghjai Mata Apartment on July 23, where thieves stole valuables worth Rs 11 lakhs 28 thousand from the house of Kedar Balkrishna Sawant. The police investigation team from Bharti Vidyapeeth police station looked into the crime and analyzed the CCTV footage from the location. The investigation led to the involvement of the minor in question.”
According to the police, as the accused did not use a mobile phone, there were no technical traces to detect. However, the police received information that the minor would be meeting his girlfriend at Katraj Lake, and accordingly, he was nabbed. The police seized 22 tolas of gold ornaments from the minor boy.
In the case of the rickshaw robbery, the arrested individuals were identified as Sudarshan Shivaji Kamble, aged 22, from Warje Mhada Colony, and Om Suresh Dhebe, aged 18, from Chaitanyanagar Dhankawadi. The victim was traveling in a rickshaw to Ambegaon when the two accused robbed him at knifepoint. Thanks to the efforts of officials Avadhoot Jamdade, Chetan Gore, and Nilesh Dhamdere, the culprits were detained, leading to the resolution of multiple crimes.
The Bharti Vidyapith police managed to recover Rs 15 lakhs 43 thousand in total from various criminal activities.
The successful operations were carried out under the supervision of DCP Smartana Patil, ACP Narayan Shirgaonkar and Senior Police Inspector Vijay Kumbhar. The team included API Amol Rasal and Vaibhav Gaikwad, Dhiraj Gupta, Harshal Shinde, Dhanaji Dhotre, Sachin Gade, Avadhatu Jamdade, Abhinay Chaudhary, Shailesh Sathe, Abhijeet Jadhav, Mahesh Baravkar, Rahul Tambe, Vikram Sawant, and Nilesh Khairmode.
