Pune: Missed SSC/HSC Registration? Maharashtra Board Opens Fresh Window For Private Candidates Appearing In July-August Exams
Pune, 11th April 2025: In a significant relief for students who missed the February-March SSC and HSC exam registration deadline, the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education has announced a new registration window for private candidates appearing in the July-August 2025 exams.
Each year, students seeking to appear for SSC (Class 10) and HSC (Class 12) exams as private candidates must complete their registration within the prescribed time. However, many eligible students fail to submit their applications on time, resulting in a wasted academic year. To avoid this loss and provide them with an opportunity, the board has now allowed private registrations for the upcoming supplementary exams.
Eligible candidates can now register by filling out Form No. 17 online through the official board website http://www.mahahsscboard.in. The online registration process will commence from Tuesday, 15th April 2025, and students will have until 15th May to complete and submit their application.
Applicants are required to submit a printout of the filled form along with proof of online fee payment and original documents to the respective school or junior college mentioned in the application.
Students who have passed Class 5 or Class 8 through the Maharashtra State Open School Board are also eligible to register as private candidates for the SSC examination. Once registered, candidates will receive a digital registration certificate, after which they must fill the examination form and pay the exam fees during the designated period.
The board has published a detailed guidance booklet on its website to assist candidates. Secretary of the Maharashtra State Board, Devidas Kulal, has urged all students, schools, and junior colleges to get in touch with their respective divisional board offices for further assistance.
