Pune: MNS Unveils PMC Election Manifesto, Promises 40% Tax Rebate for Regular Taxpayers
Pune, 10th January 2026: The Pune city unit of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) on Friday unveiled its manifesto for the upcoming Pune Municipal Corporation elections, with major promises including a 40 per cent rebate on municipal taxes for regular taxpayers and firm action against the Koyata Gang in a bid to curb crime in the city.
Releasing the document, MNS Pune city president Sainath Babar said the manifesto focuses on addressing pressing civic issues and improving urban governance. He stated that candidates contesting the elections as part of the party’s alliance would be expected to implement the agenda outlined in the manifesto.
According to Babar, the proposals have been framed keeping in view the needs of diverse sections of society, including senior citizens, women, children, and residents of slum settlements. The manifesto places significant emphasis on traffic-related problems, which remain a major concern for city residents.
Among the measures proposed are modernisation of traffic signal systems, deployment of up to 1,000 traffic wardens, and the development of large public parking facilities at key locations across the city, including areas surrounding metro stations.
The manifesto also highlights environmental concerns, with the MNS committing to making Pune a plastic-free city. The party has proposed additional steps aimed at environmental protection as part of its broader vision for sustainable urban development.
