Pune: MNS Workers Confront Bullet Riders Over Noise Pollution in Pimpri-Chinchwad

Reported By Varad Bhatkhande
Pune, 4th February 2025: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) leaders in Pimpri-Chinchwad took direct action against the persistent issue of loud, modified Bullet motorcycles in Nigdi, Pune. A video of the incident, which has since gone viral on social media, shows MNS city president Sachin Chikhale and his associates physically confronting and reprimanding Bullet riders for causing disturbances in the area.
The action followed numerous complaints from residents, particularly those in Nigdi, and college-going young women who were frequently harassed by these motorcyclists. Despite regular police interventions and citizen complaints, the problem of irresponsible Bullet riders creating excessive noise through modified silencers has remained unresolved.
Chikhale and his team intercepted the offenders, delivering what they termed “MNS-style” punishment, which included slapping and scolding the motorcyclists.
Speaking to Punekar News, Pimpri-Chinchwad City President of MNS, Sachin Chikhale, stated:
“Noise pollution has increased in the city. Roadside Romeos create a lot of disturbance with their modified Bullet silencers, causing a nuisance to citizens, especially women. This is not part of our culture. Due to their unruly behaviour, even regular Bullet riders face the consequences. We believe drivers should ride responsibly and follow traffic rules. We have met with police authorities, urging action against these violators. We also feel the Damini Squad should be more active. Soon, we plan to meet the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Chief to discuss this issue further.”
