Pune: Mobile Handsets Worth Rs 87,000 Seized From Thief

Pune, 29th July 2022: Unit Two Crime Branch of Pune city police arrested thieves who were specialised in mobile phone theft. Police seized mobiles worth Rs 87,000 from him and revealed two previous crimes.

Sub-Inspector Rajendra Patole and other officials were patrolling when policeman Mohsin Shaikh received information that one person is selling stolen mobile phones on the road leading to Pune Station on Sanjay Gandhi Marg at cheap prices.

Accordingly, a trap was laid and Anil Arun Bobde (29) of Camp was arrested.

After searching him, nine expensive mobiles of various brands worth Rs 87,000 in total were seized from him. He admitted during the investigation that he had stolen this mobile from Pune station and the Pune area. Also, 2 cases of mobile phone theft were revealed in Bundagarden and Faraskhana police stations.

Also, on the basis of technical analysis of other 7 mobile phones, efforts are being made to find their original owners and expose more crimes. Anil Bobde is a staunch mobile thief on record and earlier the Bundagarden Police had seized 75 stolen mobiles from his possession and took action but after getting out on bail he committed crimes again.

The action was taken under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Srinivas Ghadge, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime-1) Gajanan Tompe and Senior Police Inspector Krantikumar Patil.

The team included API Vaishali Bhosale, API Vishal Mohite, PSI Rajendra Patole, PSI Nitin Kamble, and Shankar Nevse, Pramod Kokane, Sameer Patel, Nikhil Jadhav, Sadhana Tamhane, Vijay Pawar, Vinod Chavan, Sanjay Jadhav, Ujwal Mokashi, Uttam Taru, Mohsin Sheikh, Ganesh Thorat, Gajanan Sonune, Kadir Sheikh and Nagnath Rakh.
