Lack Of School Building Forces Children To Study Under Tree, Pune ZP Orders Immediate Construction of Building
Pune, 29th July 2022: A school with 83 children was functioning in sheds in Inamdar Vasti, Haveli. This situation arose due to local land disputes. The school has a total land area of seven guntha but its exact demarcation is pending.
The Pune Zilla Parishad (ZP) had sanctioned Rs 25 lakh for the school buildings and classrooms. But the money was lying unused.
Ayush Prasad, CEO of Pune ZP, said, “I have requested Sarpanch to provide a school bus from Gram Nidhi to transport children to another school with infrastructure. Zilla Parishad would provide money, as per norms. We can sanction more money to develop infrastructure. I thank the sarpanch for agreeing to call a meeting of parents later this week to finalise the temporary shifting plan.”
He added, “We will try to get the school building ready and functional before the start of next academic year. I would like to thank the Collector sir for immediately responding to my request for a land survey.”
“We are extremely sorry for this situation. I was not aware of this as it was not brought to my notice,” he said.
Today, the officials from the school, Gram Panchayat met ZP CEO Prasad for review and guidance.
