Pune: More Than 33,000 Admission Seats Of Class 11 Vacant; Tomorrow Is Last Day For Admission
Pune, 14th October 2022: As per the schedule announced by the Education Department, the deadline for class 11 admissions ends tomorrow (October 15). 78,627 students have secured admission to junior colleges of Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation, and this year more than 33,000 seats are vacant.
Class 11 admission in Mumbai Metropolitan Region, Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad, Nashik, Amravati, and Nagpur Municipal Corporation areas of the state was conducted through central online mode. Three regular and three special admission rounds were conducted for admission.
After that, it was decided to conduct daily merit rounds i.e. continuous special rounds for the admissions of the students who did not get admission. In this round, students were allowed to take admission every day. The deadline was extended to October 15. So as per schedule, tomorrow is the last day of the admission process.
This year, 1,11,750 seats were available in 318 junior colleges in Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad area. There were 10,172 admissions out of 15,418 seats for admissions under quota. 76,049 admissions out of 96,332 seats available for the central admission process. A total of 78,627 students took admission to Class 11. Hence, it is seen that 33,123 seats are vacant.
Mahesh Palkar, Director of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education said, “How many students are yet to take admission in the class 11 admission process will be reviewed. After that, a decision will be taken regarding the extension of time for admissions.”
