Pune: Mother And Boyfriend Kill Four-Year-Old, Dump Body Near Bhuleshwar Ghat
Jejuri, 29th August 2023: A tragic incident unfolded a month and a half ago, as a four-year-old boy fell victim to a harrowing crime committed by his own mother and her boyfriend. The heinous act was fueled by their misguided affection, leading them to strangle the young boy, Chutkya Shankar Pawar, and subsequently dispose of his lifeless body at Bhuleshwar ghat near Malshiras in Purandar taluka.
The mother, Renu Shankar Pawar, aged 20, and her boyfriend, Umesh Arun Salunke, aged 21, both of whom have been arrested by the Jejuri police (Pune rural police).
According to the account provided by Jejuri police, Renu Pawar and Umesh Salunke, residents of Modlimb in Madha taluka of Solapur district, were entangled in a romantic relationship. Their affections were overshadowed by their inability to reconcile their relationship with the presence of Renu’s four-year-old son. One and a half months ago, this ill-fated situation culminated in the boy’s cruel strangulation at the hands of the couple. Following this horrendous act, the perpetrators transported the boy’s body on a two-wheeler and discarded it at Bhuleshwar ghat in Purandar taluka.
The concern for the boy’s well-being prompted a relative of Renu Pawar to lodge a complaint at the local police station. Responding promptly, the Jejuri police initiated a thorough investigation into the matter, resulting in the apprehension of both Renu Pawar and Umesh Salunke. In the course of their inquiry, the police located the remains of the young child that had been callously disposed of at the ghat.
Formal charges have been registered against both individuals involved in this gruesome incident. Under the guidance of Police Inspector Bapusaheb Sandbhor, the investigation is being conducted by Assistant Police Inspector Manoj Navsare, aiming to shed light on the tragic event’s full scope and circumstances.
