Pune: Motorcycle Stolen After Man Gives Lift to Stranger
Talegaon, 3rd June 2024: A 40-year-old man lost his motorcycle after giving a lift to an unknown hitchhiker near Somatne Phata on the Pune-Mumbai highway on May 28. The incident occurred close to Talegaon Dabhade.
The victim, a resident of Ozarde in Maval taluka who works in a private company, filed a complaint with the Talegaon Dabhade police on Friday.
According to an official, the victim was riding his motorcycle towards Wadgaon from Dehu Road when he encountered a man near the toll plaza at Somatne Phata who requested a lift.
“The man asked the complainant if he could drive the motorcycle, and the complainant agreed,” the official stated.
After traveling some distance, the complainant asked the man to stop near a sweet shop where he intended to buy milk and some sweets.
“The complainant asked the man to wait for a moment and went inside the shop. When he came out, he discovered that the man had driven off with the motorcycle,” the officer reported.
Police investigations into the incident are ongoing.
