Pune: MSEDCL Employee Assaulted in Electricty Disconnection Operation, FIR registered
Loni Kalbhor, 27th December 2023: A criminal case has been initiated against a man at Loni Kalbhor Police Station, Pune City Police, for obstructing government work and assaulting engineers and employees of Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL). The incident took place during an inspection of electricity connections that had been disconnected due to arrears in Theurphata, Kunjirwadi on Tuesday (26th December).
Deputy Executive Engineer Dhammapal Pandit, accompanied by his team, was examining the disconnections around 2:30 pm. The inspection revealed that the electricity supply to Lata Mohan Daundkar’s residence in Ambekarvasti had been disconnected due to an outstanding bill of Rs 9,150. It was discovered that the customer had resorted to unauthorized electricity consumption from a neighboring consumer.
Ganesh Daundkar, upon learning about the inspection report, arrived at the spot and tore the document while informing the concerned electricity consumers.
The complaint filed by MSEDCL at Loni Kalbhor Police Station resulted in a case being registered against Ganesh under sections 353 and 323 for obstructing government work and assault, respectively.
